VOLUME MIXER / TRAY MIXER 1.0.1 - WINDOWS x64 INSTALL 1. Extract the downloaded ZIP using Windows Extract All. 2. Quit an older Tray Mixer using its tray menu before upgrading. 3. Run TrayMixer-v1.0.1-Setup.exe and follow the installer. 4. Open Tray Mixer v1 from the desktop or Start menu. No Python installation, administrator rights or MIDI hardware is required for software volume controls. The installer is unsigned. Only proceed if you trust the publisher and downloaded it from Pan’s project website. Keep Windows security and antivirus enabled. USE Click the tray icon to open the panel. Close or Escape hides the panel while controls remain active. Use tray Quit to exit fully. Four faders run left to right: App 3, App 2, App 1, Master. Select exact app sessions for the three slots. An app must create a Windows audio session before it appears; begin playback in that app if needed. Master controls the selected output endpoint. It does not switch Windows' default output or move app sessions between devices. The app faders stay attached to their selected sessions. Peak meters measure real audio activity. Missing apps retain their assigned names; ambiguous replacement sessions require manual selection. OPTIONAL MIDI Choose a Windows MIDI input, then Learn an absolute CC fader or note-on mute button. Supported absolute faders use pickup: move through the current software level before they take control. Relative encoders, LED output and automatic driver setup are not supported. No Radio Hub integration is included. Missing/busy MIDI does not prevent software mixing. SETTINGS AND UNINSTALL Mappings and saved setup: %LOCALAPPDATA%\TrayMixer Save/Restore preserves assignments, not current volume levels. Personal mappings are not included in the installer. The app does not register itself to start on login. Uninstall via Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Tray Mixer v1 > Uninstall. Settings remain after uninstall. TROUBLESHOOTING App missing: start audio playback and check the selected device; exclusive-mode audio may not be controllable. Fader not responding: check the session assignment, device and MIDI selection. A learned MIDI fader must cross the current level first. Panel disappeared: it may be hidden to the tray; click the tray icon. Need to quit: use the tray menu, not the panel's close button. Version 1.0.1 includes a fix for native memory growth during repeated audio-session discovery. VERIFICATION AND LIMITS Installer test extraction matched the fixed executable and included its README. Twelve ownership/MIDI/session tests passed. Physical MIDI/controller compatibility and other computers still require testing. Windows x64 only; unsigned installer. Keep the executable and _internal directory together when using an unpacked build.
